The Mighty Leviathan of Texas!

Imagine catching a 300lb plus leviathan with a bow! And imagine it taking you for a ride when the rope that hooked the giant alligator gar was also tied around your wrist! Sound like a movie scene? Well it wasn't. It happened in real life!  Read more about this guys amazing catch in this well-written article from Chorpus Christi Texas!

As for me, I will be setting off to catch me one like this except smaller... and striped... tonight at the Sac River. Tonight I will be doing a bit of recon, but we will also be fishing the spot right away. I will let you guys know if I catch anything! Until then, break that bank, folks!!

  2. Soory man...I just saw this somewhere else and I gotta say I'm not impressed. Shooting fish just becouse one can and then discard the animal after the braggin & photos are over. That fish is OLD and rare.

    1. Hey David. I thought about that briefly while i read the story. it sounded like the gar was spawning when he shot it. I thought about my catch and release bass post in the past and i wondered if people would complain about him not releasing this beast. I definitely see your POV, but then again i think about most record fish and the fact that they have to kill all of them, right? Well, then again this guy didn't seem to be going for any records. Thanks for the comment!
