Update: He Got His License!

Ever since last year I have been trying to get my buddy Luis to buy his fishing license so we could go fishing together. I'm not going to lie, I went with him a few times when he didnt have one, but I kept pushing him to get it. Last year I made a post telling you  I would let you know when he got it so here is the post! This weekend, it finally happened! I'm excited to say that I officially have gotten Luis into fishing!

After that we went fishing out at a new spot we found. this spot may or may not be a winner once the water gets warmer. We didnt get any bites though. What did happen was a couple of guys in a kayak hooked into a six pounder a few feet from where we were. I will keep you guys posted on this new spot.

Tuesday I will be fishing with Mark from Northern California trout at the mighy Green! We will post about the trip when we get back.

  1. Fishing with a license is very important. Maybe you can share the following story I posted on my blog in 2012 with Luis... and anyone else who needs convincing about the importance of having your license:

    1. I agree. I'm glad he finally got his license. I told him many times that he needed to get his license but he just said he would think about it. He finally came around!

  2. I've only been out just a couple of times and law enforcement was carding people just last week. I don't mess with conservation laws. My neighbor and his dad went snagging where it wasn't allowed and without licenses. They got all their stuff confiscated and received fines.

    1. He did it a few times and every time i told him he was going to get a ticket if he got caught. I knew the penalties would be harsh if he got caught. I wonder if I would have gotten penalized for being with him? I'm glad he finally decided to get it though.

  3. Currently fishing without a license is $400.00. Good to have one.

  4. Good for your friend, Juan. Like the others have said, it ain't worth the risk and shame when you have to go to court because you were being "sneaky". I am not sure about rather or not an accompanying angler would get more than just a good chewing out from an officer/warden. Like I said, "it ain't worth it".

    1. Yeah, I'm really glad he didnt get caught. That would have chased him away from fishing forever. It was difficult. He fished and caught fish but it took him a long time to come around. Its like you try to get somebody into fishing but they are supposed to pay for a license simply to try something that they might not know if they enjoy enough to pay 50 bucks to get. lol

  5. I'm glad to hear you convinced Luis to get his license. It just isn't worth it to get caught without one.
