April 1 fishing

April Fool's day but man, We were no fools that day! We went fishing out in the sac river and I must tell you all that my drought is finally over! I had been fishing a few times this year and i had not caught a single fish but april 1st changed it all!

24", 4lb Striped Bass!

We hit the sac river at aroun 12:15 and by 1230, I hooked into my first striper of the year and my new personal best! Earlier this year i shared some of my goals with you guys and I am proud to say that this fish takes care of #7

              7.      Break my striper record

My previous best was a 22" striper last January and this one is a 24" sriped bass! I'm inching my way towards a huge one, I can feel it. 

Well, after that I got a couple of bites but nothing substantial. I was just happy to have caught my first striper of the run/first fish of the year! Ol pops also hooked into a nice 15" catfish, his first of the year as well.

So this is the first fish of the striper run and next tuesday i plan on fishing the sac again. I will let you guys know how I do. Thanks for reading along!
